entrepreneur assumes the risk and receives the rewards thereof.

The word "entrepreneur" is derived from a French root ‘entreprendre’, It means 'to undertake'. Thus, an entrepreneur is the person who undertakes the risk. The term "entrepreneur" seems to have been introduced into economic theory by Cantillon (1755)

Who or What is an Entrepreneur?

An entrepreneur is a person who starts a business with the aim to make a profit.

Full definition : one who organizes, manages, and undertakes the risks of a business or enterprise. Entrepreneur starts an enterprise.
